PC with PD: New Podcast! CHECK IT NOW!

I know I’ve been focusing a lot more on MMAFigs.com than this site, but that’s just the way things are. MMAFigs.com is really hitting its stride, and I want to be there and be in control as the floodgates continue to open and new news and new members continue to pour into the site.

To help that along, I’ve recently released a podcast! That’s right, PDW is podcasting! Check it out here.

New Pickups: November 9, 2009

Straight from RSC! Review will be posted on MMAFigs.com by tonight!

New Purchases: October 17, 2009

Would’ve posted these yesterday, but some familial obligations (early birthday party for myself, namely) ate up a bunch of my time.

So, here were yesterday’s pickups! Kendall Grove is the only one left that I need to get all of Series 0! I also included some pictures of Round 5 figures in the Basic Octagon for a pic request.

New Purchases: October 13, 2009

More to come, more to say, but I’ve only got a little bit of time since I’m going to go back out in a little bit and hit up some more stores in my quest to find UFC action figure goodness.

On a side note, the PRIDE belt completes my belt collection, so look for a review of the series soon to come to MMAFigs.com!

My First Attempt at a Pic Match + Some Loose Lesnar

Insomnia has its uses…sometimes. Worked this up as a first attempt, it recently got stuck in my head that I should try to simulate an MMA fight with my UFC figures, and instead of pouring hours into one match and maybe it bombing, I figured I would simulate a bit of a match, the ending bit, and see how that went over. I also took a few more pics of Brock Lesnar just for the heck of it.

New Purchases: September 30 2009 (Updated!)

Hello all, here’s the official story.

I read online that some people found UFC Series Zero at their local TRU, so of course I went figure hunting! Imagine my surprise when I found that my local Toys R Us is indeed carrying UFC Zero! I’ve managed to nab five of the initial eight, currently Kendall Grove, Miguel Torres, and Royce Gracie have eluded me. I wanted everyone so bad that I even got a TRU associate to check in the back for me, but alas, everything they had was already on the store shelves.

Enjoy the pictures!

Also, note the additional action shots!

New Pickups: September 26, 2009

Read and enjoy! Review to be posted soon at MMAFigs.com.

New Purchases 9/8/09: Round 5 & DA Silva!

With DCUC showing up once in a blue moon and Mighty Muggs pulling a disappearing act when it comes to my local stores, my two main collections have both suffered some considerable hits. So I’ve decided to kickstart my MMA collection by collecting Round 5 figures, and what a way to start: I went ahead and bought all of Series 1 though 4, plus the Anderson Silva and Gina Carano exclusives. I have to say, I love these things! Can’t wait to get more of them and hopefully have a completed collection. I’d love to have all of them, and I’m most likely going to keep them loose since I’m a loose collector. The only one that will probably be MOC would be any that go up insanely in price, like the Exclusive Randy Couture that is now worth, like, a couple hundred bucks or something.

DREAM.10 Full Event Review

Although Not as Important as UFC 100, DREAM.10 Still an Impressive Milestone

While UFC 100 represented the most important landmark in the history of the company, another Mixed Martial Arts promotion recently celebrated an important milestone of its own with a fantastic night of fights: Japanese-based MMA promotion DREAM went into the double digits on July 20, celebrating their tenth event with several highly-anticipated “superfights” and what would go down as a stunning finale of the DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix.

UFC 100 “Making History” Event Review

Fantastic Fights, Furious Finishes, and Champions Clash at Landmark 100th UFC Pay-Per-View

While Dana White and company may have come under fire recently for promoting several different Pay-Per-Views as “Our Biggest Event Ever”, few can argue that UFC 100 was a landmark event for the promotion and the sport of Mixed Martial Arts as a whole. Everyone involved, from the fighters to the production crew to the fans, did their best to make the important event meaningful. Two title fights and a clash between TUF Coaches highlighted a stacked undercard that included fresh faces, promising prospects, and even UFC Hall of Fame Members. So, was the tagline of the Pay-Per-View (“Making History”) correct? Let’s find out, as PdW2kX and MMAFigs.com digs into UFC 100 for a full event review.
